Flashing Red means that you are recording the video image (and sound).
I have found that when powering on the Little Cyclops the camera can sometimes think I have have pressed the POWER button again after releasing it and so go straight in to recording a video when I didn't mean it to do so... The simple way out of this is to press the POWER button briefly to stop the video recording.
